Born in Grand Turk, Chrystal “TESS” Charles is a soulful vocalist and songwriter whose music blends Jazz, Soul, Soca, and Rip-Saw with rich island influences from her Turks & Caicos, Jamaican, and Vincentian heritage. With over a decade in Tourism, TESS made a bold transition from hospitality to full-time performance in 2016 and hasn’t looked back since.
Known for her emotive performances and electrifying stage presence, TESS has headlined major events, held residencies at luxury resorts, and represented Turks and Caicos internationally—including performances in New York, Miami, Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic. Her original track “Daa’n My Business” introduced her unique fusion style to the world, showcasing her roots and bold creative voice.
As an executive producer, she’s brought shows like Moonlit Jazz, Love Jones, and Intimate to life, while also serving the community through her platform Ve Tings, which embraces local identity while informing the population on current events, and community-building initiatives like BYOC (Bring Your Own Creativity) which encourages expression and fellowship among artists and creatives.
Through music, storytelling, and authenticity, TESS is dedicated to empowering creatives and proving that passion and purpose can go hand in hand.
