ABOUT US

ABOUT THE TCI ARTIST REGISTRY

The Artist Registry is the official database of local creatives and cultural practitioners across the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was created to serve three purposes:

Preservation of our artistic and cultural expressions

Promotion of our talent locally, regionally, and internationally

Empowerment through access to visibility, funding, and professional development

About US Message from Director.jpg

A National Commitment to Culture and Creativity

Across our islands, members of the creative industry have long called for greater visibility, recognition, and structured support. The Turks and Caicos Islands Government recognizes the vital role of culture and creativity in national identity, economic diversification, and sustainable development.

With the full backing of the Turks and Caicos Islands Government, the National Artist Registry has been established as a national initiative to strengthen and support the creative sector. The Registry is administered and managed by the Department of Culture & Heritage, ensuring transparency, consistency, and alignment with national policy objectives.

The National Artist Registry is a cornerstone initiative of the National Culture and Heritage Policy and Strategic Implementation Plan (2020–2029). This policy identifies the Registry as a key national priority, designed to formally recognize our artists, artisans, performers, and cultural practitioners, while connecting them to local, regional, and international opportunities.

To our local and international visitors, thank you for your interest in the creative landscape of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Through this platform, you will discover the talent, resilience, and imagination that define our people and enrich our national identity.

A Message from the Honourable Rachel M. Taylor, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture

Welcome to the Turks and Caicos Islands National Artist Registry, a historic platform that formally recognises the artists, cultural practitioners, and creative professionals who have shaped our national identity, preserved our heritage, and enriched our society for generations.

For far too long, many of our creatives have contributed profoundly to national life without the visibility, recognition, or structured support their work deserves. The National Artist Registry represents a decisive step forward. Through the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, and the Department of Culture, the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands is responding to long-standing calls to strengthen and invest in our creative sector.

This initiative is a cornerstone of the National Culture and Heritage Policy and Strategic Implementation Plan (2020–2029) and aligns directly with the Government’s Citizens’ Contract and Vision 2040, both of which prioritise opportunity, inclusion, national pride, and sustainable development.

The Registry is more than a directory. It is a formal mechanism designed to recognise and document artistic excellence across our islands; connect artists to commissions, collaborations, and professional development opportunities; facilitate access to local, regional, and international platforms; and support the growth of a resilient and sustainable creative economy.

Whether you are a visual artist, musician, dancer, writer, craftsperson, or cultural practitioner, this Registry is intended to elevate your profile, expand your reach, and open new doors.

To our artists and cultural practitioners: your work matters. It tells our stories, reflects our collective journey, and connects us to who we are as a people. I encourage you to register, engage, and take full advantage of this platform.

To our partners and visitors: we invite you to explore, collaborate, and invest in the creativity that defines the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Culture is not a luxury, it is the heartbeat of our nation. Through the National Artist Registry, we are ensuring that this heartbeat remains strong for generations to come.
